The MICE Quotient and Try/Fail Cycles

Mouse Typing

To get my writing off to a good start for my novel “Twisted Intentions,” I re-watched the YouTube video “Lecture #7: Short Stories — With Special Guest Instructor Mary Robinette Kowal.” It’s part of Brandon Sanderson’s 2020 Creative Writing Lectures at BYU. If you write, I highly recommend it.

Mary Robinette Kowal is an award winning author and gives great writing advice. In the video she talks about the MICE Quotient and Try/Fail Cycles. Watch the video and she’ll explain it all to you.
